Often ceramics are seen as simple domestic wear, or used in sculpture. Personally I see and use the ceramic body as a canvas for mark making and story telling.

As a side line to my larger wall pieces, I have created a range of wearable items. These ceramic fragments, share glimpses of a story and allow curiosity from maker, wearer to viewer.

These are personal plaques of commemoration, of not only narrative but of calligraphy talents. More often than not, correspondence is now only seen in typed form, I feel it a shame to let such a craft be forgotten, hence the continued use of handwritten letters to influence my etched badge forms.
